Control stations
Shift work and long hours of sitting are part of a crane operator's daily life. Consequently, it is paramount that a crane's control station offer the highest level of comfort and adjustability. Features like ergonomic backrests, fixed side support and headrests all contribute to healthy sitting positions. However, the adjustability of armrests, control consoles and suspensions must also be taking into consideration to improve the posture during crane operation and properly support the neck and back. The ergonomics and adjustability options of our control stations are a top priority and we improve them on a continuous basis.
We've continued to innovate in the crane control space by introducing new smart technology, such phone app control and memory functionality. With the memory function, each operator can save up to five positions and quickly recall them at the beginning of their shift. This bypasses the typical time-consuming manual readjustments after each shift change, allowing operators to get right to work.
In addition to healthy sitting posture, a perfect view is crucial for a crane operator. In order to guarantee these aspects, we equip our control stations with rotation functionality and tilt systems. Adjustable footrests and an optional U-cut seat are also available to ensure a obstruction free view.

Spohn + Burkhardt joysticks and switches are the industry norm for cranes and known for their reliability and maintenance friendly designs. All models are modular in design and can be custom-configured to your specific requirements. Our vast portfolio of options consists of a large variety of multi-function handles and grips, buttons and electronic components.
Joysticks can be supplied with a variety of electronic outputs and communication types, including Analog, Digital, CAN J1939, CANopen, Profibus, Profinet, Profisafe, Modbus, Ethernet IP and more.
We also manufacture our joysticks with UV and ozone protection, and depending on the application, we make them resistant to saltwater and oil or equip them with components for use in explosion-prone atmospheres.
